Descripción
The skylight plinth is straight, allowing 100% natural light entry. The opening of the slab opening is the same as the light entry measurement, unlike skylights with an inclined base which, due to the inclination of the base, do not allow 100% natural light entry.
Plinth
- The plinth is the support that is placed on the cover and supports the dome.
- The FREE straight socket is made entirely of PVC, with an interior air chamber that provides greater thermal insulation.
- The exterior part is rough to facilitate the grip of the waterproofing.
- The white PVC interior is smooth and gives it a perfect finish.
- Height 18 cm.
Dome
The dome is the upper part of the skylight, with a spherical shape that allows the entry of light and proper evacuation of water.
Made of methacrylate (polymethyl methyl methacrylate PMMA), in transparent color, they do not yellow and maintain their transparency for years.
There are also special domes for specific uses.
Possibility of manufacturing the domes in a wide range of colors.
Important: It is advisable to always install the clamshell dome :
- We call the set of two domes forming an intermediate air chamber a bivalve dome. It is indicated to prevent condensation that occurs in extreme humidity and temperature conditions. It also guarantees greater thermal insulation, which will allow us to significantly save energy.
- Due to the extreme weather conditions on the roofs, it is advisable to always install skylights with a bivalve dome.
- To achieve greater light entry, the interior dome is made transparent. The exterior is also transparent
100% natural light entry
The FREE skylights (straight base) allow 100% light entry, the opening of the slab opening is the same as the light entry measurement.
Skylights with an inclined base DO NOT allow 100% light entry, since due to the inclination of the base we must subtract the difference (10 cm), from each of the four sides, between the bottom of the base and the top.
